Afternoon Tea, although not originally from Japan, as you might already know, has become a trendy way to spend time and socialize here in Japan. Recently, many hotels, cafés, and restaurants have been trying their best to develop the next Instagrammable or photo-worthy afternoon tea.

I went to an afternoon tea for the first time in Japan, and since then, I have fallen in love with this activity and always look forward to trying the next seasonal afternoon tea. This time, I was invited to one of the most prestigious hotels in Tokyo, ANA InerContinental Tokyo, to try their new Halloween Afternoon Tea. Their afternoon teas are always top-rated, and before the Halloween-themed one, they had a lovely Matcha Afternoon Tea with tropical fruits, very refreshing for summer. Check out photos from the previous afternoon tea here.

I loved the design of the sweet and savory treats; I think it is very creative, both kawaii (cute) and spooky, in theme for Halloween. And what I love about the afternoon teas offered by ANA InterContinental Tokyo is that not only are they super Instagrammable, but everything is also delicious. Because sometimes, Instagrammable food may lack taste, but that is not the case here. You can see that they choose the best ingredients to make everything delicious.
The teas they serve are also of very high quality, and since you do not have to worry about how much tea you drink at an afternoon tea, I tried as many as possible, both iced and hot versions. My favorite was the Iced Rooibos Cream Orange; it was so delicious that I ordered it two times! You cannot miss the classic Pumpkin Spiced Latte; the version here was well-balanced and not too sweet, perfect for the sweets from the afternoon tea set. My favorite sweets were the Pumpkin & White Chocolate Mousse and the Pumpkin & Chestnut Tart.
Although it still feels like summer in Japan with the warm temperatures and flavors such as chestnut, pumpkin, and cinnamon, I could feel that autumn is around the corner.
