I’m back in Tokyo! Those of you who have been following my blog for a while might already know that I used to live in the Japanese capital for a year. In only one year, Tokyo managed to become a third home for me, so I decided I wanted to go back someday. This day came faster than I expected and after only one year spent at home, I am back in Tokyo and the plan is to stay here another two years for my studies.
Even though I used to be really excited about going back, as the departure day was getting closer and closer, this excitement started to cool off. I wish to travel around the world, to see many new places, check off bucket list places, have amazing experiences but for the first time in my life, I feel homesick. I really feel blessed I got the chance to come back to Japan and study what I want so I hope I will get used to being back. And I also understand that being homesick is a pretty normal feeling, especially when you are going to live abroad for a longer period of time.
The first week here passed really fast and I was busy with all kinds of orientations and contracts. Just like two years ago, my first days in Tokyo were pretty rainy because of the typhoon season. However, I managed to squeeze some little trips to Tokyo’s famous places such as Shinjuku and Shibuya. As they were not new for me I kept feeling nostalgic. But there are still many places I have to discover in Tokyo, that’s one thing that I love about this city, that you can always find something new, a new train station, a new Japanese garden, a new shrine. Please come back for more adventures from Tokyo and not only 🙂 !
