Europe is covered in March snow but in Japan (or at least in Tokyo…) spring has sprung! Now, besides the early bloomers, the ume (plum) flowers, you can admire early sakura (cherry) blossoms in several places in Tokyo. One of those places is Shinjuku Gyoen, a beautiful park located in the busy Shinjuku, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of one of Tokyo’s busiest wards. I love this place, and I have visited it many times, during different seasons.

When spring comes, Shinjuku Gyoen is a popular place for hanami (cherry blossom viewing), its inconveniences being the fact that it can get very very crowded and alcohol is not allowed in the park (compared to other places such as Ueno Park, where drinking beer and sake under the cherry blossoms is the custom). But despite these two facts, Shinjuku Gyoen boasts one of the most beautiful gardens in Tokyo during the spring season, and during all seasons in general.

There is always some kind of sakura in bloom in Shinjuku Gyoen. Autumn-winter, the fuyu-zakura or winter cherry blossoms, during spring, the early sakura and then the main sakura that blooms by the end of March and about summer, to be honest, I don’t know but I’ll make sure to pay a summer visit to Shinjuku Gyoen this year. Here are some photos of Shinjuku Gyoen during autumn 🙂 .

But rather than a post about Shinjuku Gyoen, I wanted this post to be an outfit post so let me talk a bit about the coat I’m wearing, which I absolutely love and am obsessed with at the moment. It is from a shop called Freegia, which can be found in Harajuku (Takeshita Street) and Shimokitazawa. It is a Korean fashion store and I love the vintage vibe of their clothes! And the red beret, which is also a new purchase, I got it from a shop in Shimokitazawa, Studio Toms. I love Harajuku and Shimokitazawa fashion styles so I often shop in these two areas, prices are also affordable and their clothes make me happy. Where do you like to shop in Tokyo?

Thank you for your visit! I wish you a lovely day!
